If you have just arrived in a new neighbourhood or municipality, you may well notice that the waste collection is organised slightly differently compared to your previous neighbourhood or municipality. Waste is collected in two different ways in Almere: via underground containers, if you live in an apartment, or with waste containers at the property. For all residents there are containers for paper and cardboard, and glass in their neighborhoods.
In Almere, people separate household waste from each other so that we can use it as raw material for new products. This saves our planet and we limit the costs of processing residual waste. We ask you to separate: vegetables, fruit, garden waste and food waste (gft), plastic and metal/tin packaging and drinking cartons (pmd), paper and cardboard, glass and textiles. What remains is residual waste.
