Waste recycling centres

Almere has 3 waste recycling centres where you can deliver many types of waste for free. Waste materials that do not go in the containers at home: wood, metal, garden waste etc. At the centre you will be assisted to deposit your waste in the right container. You van also have your bulky waste collected at home.

Locations and opening hours

The waste recycling centres are opened from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 o’clock. Saturday is the busiest day. Check the indicator to find the best time to visit the waste recycling centres. Is it still busy when you arrive at the waste recycling centre? Then we kindly ask you not to temporarily park your car to drop off your waste by foot.

Commercial waste

You are not allowed to bring commercial waste to the waste recycling centre. If our employee is unsure, then they can check your waste and ask for identification and for a recent postal item, which confirms your adress in Almere.

Reusable items waste recycling centre Almere Buiten

You can also deliver reusable items at the waste recycling centre in Almere Buiten. These items do not disappear in the trash but will have a second life through various partners in Almere.

The waste recycling centres regularly receive items from people that they no longer need. These items, however, can still be used by someone else. These items can go to thrift shops or good causes. The items should be complete, whole, functioning and clean.

That is why you can deliver reusable items at the waste recycling centre in Almere Buiten. This new method of collecting used items is a collaboration of Almere municipality with De Kringloper, Rataplan, Voedselloket Almere and Dierenasiel Almere.

New entrance

The entrance of the waste recycling centre of Almere Buiten can be recognised from the tent stretched taut above it. The road splits in 3 ways. On one side, you can deliver small items, such as toys, books and clothes. On the other side, you can find big items, such as closets, couches and washing machines. You can reach the waste recycling centre from the middle section.

In the tent are employees of city sanitation and our partners. They will help determine if items are reusable or not. If you still have any items left, or you do not want to deliver anything for reuse, you can drive to the waste recycling centre. There you can place materials such as wood, metal and pruning materials in the correct containers.

It helps to think ahead how to separate your items. Your reusable items will be delivered first. Make sure you can access the facilities comfortably.

Goal

This method of collecting reusable items meets our goal of giving more materials a second life and to reduce waste. If this method of waste collection is successful, we will look into expanding to the waste recycling centres in Haven or Poort.
