The Almere Municipality believes it is important that everyone receives a good health insurance. That is why we offer Municipal Insurance (Gemeentepolis). This is a collective health insurance where the Almere Municipality partially pays for your health insurance. The municipality works together with the insurance company VGZ.
The Gemeentepolis (Municipal Health Insurance) is available for people with a low income. This cannot be more than a certain amount: 130% of the social minimum. Do you often require the services of physical therapy, pedicures, dentists or do you have glasses and lenses, for an illness or chronic condition? Or do your children need braces? Then the Gemeentepolis might have something to offer you. A regular basic health insurance usually does not provide coverage for this.
