Are you looking for a rental property or room rental? Are you already a tenant or a foreign employee with a work contract or lease? Do you have problems with the landlord of the property? In some cases, you can (anonymously) file a report at the Almere municipality.
If you are renting or want to rent at one of the following housing corporations, you cannot file a report at the Almere municipality. You have to file a report at the corporation itself:
We will investigate your report and decide if the rental of the property does not follow the rules of Wet goed verhuurderschap (Law good landlordism). If so, then the municipality can force the landlord to let the property according to the law. Or the municipality can fine the landlord. If the situation is not very urgent, the municipality will investigate the report later.
Your report will be picked up by the Department of Licensing, Supervision and Enforcement. There is no way to work out how long it will take to handle your report, because it is dependant on the situation and in which way the handling is done.
The handler of the report will contact you (by phone, mail or email) to keep you informed on current situation and for possible questions. If you submit the report anonymously, you will not receive any contact or information on the handling of your report.
Filing a report is free.
