Getting married in the town hall

The following rules apply to this:

• a maximum of 80 people may be present. This includes the bridal couple, witnesses, children and possibly the photographer;
• possible gatherings in the evenings and weekends can be discussed with us. To do this, please email burgerzakenhc@almere.nl;
• it’s possible to play music before, during or after the ceremony;
• there’s scope for a personal speech during the ceremony;
• the ceremony lasts up to an hour.

Budget ceremony at the town hall

You can also opt for a budget ceremony at the town hall. This can be either a marriage or a partnership. This can be done on weekdays between 9.00 and 17.00.

The following rules apply to this:

• a maximum of 16 people may be present. The bridal couple, witnesses, children and possibly the photographer all count;
• it’s not possible to play music before, during or after the ceremony;
• the civil registrar will limit himself to the legal formalities. So there’s no personal speech;
• the budget ceremony lasts a maximum of half an hour

Free wedding ceremony at the town hall

You can get married or register your partnership at the town hall for free on Monday mornings at 9.00 or 9.30.

The following rules apply to this:

• a maximum of 6 people may be present. This includes the bridal couple, witnesses, children and possibly the photographer;
• it’s not possible to play music before, during or after the ceremony;
• the civil registrar will limit himself to the legal formalities. It will therefore not include a personal speech;
• the waiting list for a free marriage or registered partnership is currently 6 months
